Stage 4.1 It's Only Been 2.5 Days!

It’s only been two and a half days since the fight with Brian and Nioki. Sean E. and Candie have been in his room for these past two days. Sean M. and Layne have been in his room, Paul in his room recuperating and getting adjusted to his new arm, and Nick has been doing target practice for the past two days as well. Everyone else has been asleep. Aside from Paul, I suffered the worst injuries and I’m still going (even though Ryan said that I should take a few personal days).

I was walking around using a 20 foot tall walking stick that I found on a planet we had stopped by. My left arm was completely messed up and I had cuts that I didn’t even know about. The GGR hadn’t bothered us for these past 2.5 days. Mostly, they had been flying directly next to us. Amber was doing the same, probably because of the threat Brian and Nioki posed to the galaxy. Jon was left to fend for himself. He’ll probably get wiped out in a matter of days.

Anyway, not much has happened, so that’s all you need to know. We should all be fully healed in another day or so.

4.2 Why Can't We Have Normal Enemies

Okay, we’re all healthy and alive. Sean E. and Candie have finally come out of that room and the same goes with Sean M. and Layne. Nick was still in the shooting range and Paul was still doing final adjustments to his arm. We had to put him out fifteen times in the past hour though.

The GGR cruisers and the UD1 cruisers (we learner what Amber calls them now) were still flying in close proximity. They moved out of weapons range though, figuring we might jump them. Brandon’s garbage cruiser (it says IGM on it) was the only ship that was even close enough to see.

            “Matt?” Sean M. asked.

            “What?” I responded.

“Why do you have a walking stick that’s 20 feet tall?” Sean M. asked.

“I found it, and it can make a really effective weapon,” I said.

“Okay,” Sean said. “Where’s Sean E.?” he asked.

“I don’t know. I saw him and Candie earlier, but after they went into the training room, I haven’t seen them since,” I replied.

            “Creepy,” Sean M. said.

“How?” I asked. “Wait, don’t answer. I’m going to the sparing hall.”

“Really? You want a match?” Paul asked suddenly. He wasn’t at the bridge earlier, so we don’t know how he got there.

“Uh, are you sure you can use your arm?” I asked. “I know you heal fast, but that was a serious injury.”

“I had my arm fitted with various mechanical parts,” he answered.

“Interesting,” I said. I headed to the sparing deck and prepared to fight.

“How long until we can track Brian and Nioki?” Amber asked.

“Not sure,” Kira asked. “We can find part of their ship, but that’s only if they fire weapons. And that’s only been once in the past three and half hours.”

“Where was the last known location?” Amber asked.

“6th quadrant of the Inferion Galaxy,” Kira answered.

            “Who controls that?”

            “GGR.”

“We found a small energy burst in the Inferion Galaxy!” Candy shouted.

            “What?” Suzie responded.

“It was close to our refinery and processing plant!” Candy said.

“We need to head there now! If we lose that, then the N3 can take over!” Suzie said.

“They won’t be able to get there in time or without us noticing anyway,” Candy said.

“What’s going on?” Candi asked as she entered the bridge.

“Brian and Nioki attacked our refinery planet in the Inferion Galaxy,” Suzie informed her.

            “That whore!” Candi snapped.

            “Who? Nioki?” her sister asked.

            “Yeah,” Candi answered.

As Paul and I were sparing, a sudden announcement came on over the intercom.

“Matt, Nick, Sean E., Paul, get to the bridge,” Sean M. said.

“Man, we won’t be able to finish this sparring match,” I said. Paul made one last swing at me and I blocked it with ease, then countered it. We put up the equipment and began walking towards the bridge. As we were walking, Paul brought up a conversation that I have a tendency to hurt or kill people for.

“Why can’t you get a girlfriend?” Paul asked.

“What does it matter?” I asked as calmly as I could.

“You come across females a lot, and you have a tendency of getting them to try and kill you. Why can’t you get any of them to just speak to you?” Paul asked me.

“I don’t know and I really don’t care. Most cases, I’m usually in a fight at that point,” I said. We made it to the bridge before the conversation continued any further.

“What’s so important that you had to take me from my targeting practice?” Nick asked when he made it to the bridge.

“One, you’ve been in target practice for a good three or more days. Second, we’ve received conformation from the GGR flag cruiser, UD1, and IGM that Brian and Nioki have been spotted,” Sean M. informed us.

“Where were they located and how?” I asked.

“They were in the GGR galaxy of Inferion and they were detected by their weapons fire,” Sean M. said.

“Can you get any other information?” I asked.

“Based on the tracking capabilities we have from tracking Amber and her band, we can track them when they are in normal space time. We just needed them to show themselves long enough to lock onto them,” Sean M. explained. I nodded then walked over to the nav computer.

            “Matt?” Candie asked.

“We’re making a pit stop to Earth,” I said. I sent a quick relay message to the other ships then powered up the hyperdrive engine. We jumped first, followed by Brandon; following him were the GGR ships, then the GGR cruisers entered hyperspace. Lastly, Amber entered.

“They are heading towards Earth! We must cut them off!” Jon declared. Kaidel was the only one with him.

“You could have just said that to me instead of yelling it,” she mentioned to him.

            “So? Yelling’s cooler,” Jon said.

“How much longer till we reach Earth?” I asked the nav computer. Bob’s holographic avatar appeared and he looked bored.

“Three hours. You’ve been asking that for the past hour. You know it was a 6 hour ride. The monitor told you that!” Bob snapped.

            “Shut up, Bob,” I said.

“I’m only stating the facts. By the way, I was watching Sean E. and Candie,” Bob started.

“Stop! I don’t want to hear a thing!” I barked.

“Fine. I was just making conversation,” he said.

“That’s something you take up with them,” I said.

“I did. They said to record everything for ‘future use’,” Bob said.

            “TMI, dude. TMI,” I mumbled.

I rolled over to the weapons computer (yes, we have rolling chairs for the computers) and took a look at the weapon schematics. I was looking at the disruptor cannon we had acquired from the GGR in a previous encounter. From the way I was understanding the information, it disrupted the bonds between atoms and causes the entire planet to collapse into itself, therefore eliminating the need for cleanup or shields to protect from the flying debris. The only thing I didn’t like about it was the power requirements. The amount of power used was equivalent to three hundred or so nuclear power plants running at max capacity for 10 years.

“Trying to get a power source for the new weapon?” Bob asked.

            “Yeah,” I said.

“The GGR could do it,” he commented.

“True, but at the loose of other weapons, shields, and communication. After that, all they could do is run for it,” I noted.

“Then what do you expect?” Bob asked.

“I don’t know,” I said. “I’m just thinking that the black hole generator was just as powerful, but doesn’t even require as much power that this weapon uses. If anything, that disruptor weapon needs as much power as a black hole.”

“Then why can’t you use the black hole generator for the power source?” Bob asked.

“I don’t know. I’ll try it in a simulation run in a few. First, I need a beer,” I said. I walked away and into my room.

“I guess I’ll do the simulations,” Bob said. For the next two and a half hours, Bob was running sims, I was sleeping, and everyone was doing something on the ship.

I woke up just before we dropped out of hyperspace and made my way back to the bridge. Sean E., Candie, Sean M., Layne, Nick, and Paul were all on the bridge waiting. When I got there, everyone was watching me, as if I had forgotten something.

            “What?” I asked.

“Didn’t you hear Bob calling for you?” Nick asked.

            “No,” I said. “Why?”

“I finished the simulations. That and we’re about to enter Earth’s orbit,” Bob said.

            “Really?” I asked.

“No, we’re about to get to a donut factory on Uranus. Of course!” Bob snapped.

“Sorry. I haven’t slept well since we left that planet,” I said. “Just give me the info on my tablet.” I slid my computer over to Bob and walked over to the weapons consul.

“What is he doing?” Candie asked.

“I don’t know,” Sean E. said. Suddenly, we dropped out of hyperspace.

“Whoa! We dropped out to early!” Nick announced.

“I know. If we dropped out at the intended coordinates, we would have been ambushed,” I said.

“Really?” Bob asked. “Sensors don’t indicate anything.”

“I know. Let’s just play it safe. We’re at the edge of the system. It should take us about an hour to get to Earth at full speed,” I said.

“It would have been better if we came out closer to the sun,” Paul said.

“Doing that would have incinerated us,” Bob said. “This might be a better option. I’ll check satellite feed.”

            “What satellite?” Nick asked.

“About three years ago (Earth time) I put up some satellites. They’re supposed to be activated by any weapons fire or explosion,” I explained.

“Why did you put those up?” Nick asked.

“More as a way to see what the GGR was doing when they were the only enemy,” I answered.

            “Smart idea,” Nick responded.

            “Bad news,” Bob said suddenly.

            “What?” everyone asked.

“The satellites have been active for twenty minutes now. There has been an unusual amount of weapons discharge around the southern pole,” Bob said.

“Great. Get us there ASAP. We need the main turrets active and ready when wee get there. Have all auto-defense turrets online. Get as many pilots ready for deployment. Nick, I need you in a fighter,” I instructed everyone.

“Let’s move people!” Nick shouted. Everyone suddenly began scurry around, preparing for battle. A security officer next to me turned around to his console.

“Officer, put us in DEFCON 2,” I said. He nodded and punched a few keys. A loud buzz was heard and a voice over the intercom announced that we were at DEFCON 2. Nick and I ran to the fighter bay and prepared for battle.

Nick leapt into an A-632 F edition and powered up the main engines. I climbed into my ZX-31 fighter. My engines took a little longer to power on, but soon, I was leaving the hangar bay at 3.78 x 1015 mph. Nick was only seconds behind me.

“Matt. How did that thing fit into the hangar bay?” Nick asked.

“Separate hangar bay with a bigger door,” I explained. My ship had a 60 foot wing span. Nick’s and the other 18 A-632 fighters only had a 20 foot wing span.

We were approaching the battle and the cruiser was flanking us by a minute and 15 seconds. We reached the battle and cloaked before we were detected. Hundreds of GGR cruisers were firing at GGR cruisers. We moved in carefully, not to be noticed until necessary. From what we could see, the majority of ships were old and outdated. They were attacking the new ones that I had become familiar with (GGR Blade Runners), and the Blade Runner were tearing the older ones apart. We sat and waited until we felt that we didn’t need to do anything.

When everything stopped burning, crashing, and exploding, we moved in close enough to determine if it was safe to advance. There were few remaining ships, and those had been pretty heavily damaged. The GGR flagship was in decent condition, but was flying without shields or life support.

“How long do you think they’ll last?” I asked Sean M.

“No longer than 24 hours in space,” he answered.

“Think we should tow them into orbit?” I asked openly.

“No. That’s not one of the GGR ships,” Candie said.

“Really?” I asked. Before anyone responded, the flagship shimmered and became a newer looking ship that wasn’t on any database I hacked or made.

            “Who is that?” Nick asked.

“Amazed aren’t you?” a familiar voice asked.

“Jon? You were fighting the GGR?” I asked. The ship was spotless. There wasn’t a burn mark on the surface of the ship or even a scratch on the hull.

“Yes. I was. And now, I will destroy you and your little band of ships and rule the universe!” Jon declared.

“And I’m his assistant!” we heard Kaidel shout.

“I have a bounty on her head,” Candie said.

            “Really? How much?” I asked.

            “₪ 600,000,000,000,” Candie answered.

            “What?” I asked.

            “GGR currency,” she explained.

“Oh. Bob, pull the ship into view for Jon,” I said. The ∞ Cruiser pulled out from behind the moon and took position over us.

            “Crap,” Jon said.

“Don’t worry, our weapons are highly advanced,” Kaidel said.

“Why are you on the channel?” I asked Kaidel.

“I’m on the surface,” she answered.

“Oh. Target her location when you get a lock,” I ordered.

“Right,” Sean M. said. Without warning, Jon opened fire on us. Even though he had advanced weaponry, it bounced of the shields as it he spit at them.

            “Return fire!” Nick commanded.

“Deploy the fighters!” Jon snapped. On my radar, I picked up about 738 CS-33 fighters approaching us.

“Break formation. Take down as many fighters as possible. Try to use plasma cannon as little as possible. We need to know the flagship’s shield strength. Move out!” I commanded. We broke formation and advanced on the enemy fighters.

“Matt, keep out of the way of the cannon fire. We need to take down their shield,” Sean M. said.

“Okay,” I said. I pitched right and began firing my machine guns at the incoming fighters. They fired back, using their laser cannons. I dodged the blast and pulled around to aim. I glanced at my sensors and saw that they were disabled. I shrugged and began a spiral bomb run towards the CS-33 fighters. Because they had knocked out their own weapons, radar, and engines, I had an easy time taking them out. I opened fire with my 30mm machine guns and my hidden rocket launchers. The rockets began advancing towards the CS-33 fighters and divided by launching smaller missiles from its main chassis. The mini missiles began firing little machine guns and tearing through the closest fighters.

“Jon! We’re being torn apart!” a pilot shouted from the cloud of CS-33s.

            “How!?” Jon responded.

“I don’t know! It’s coming from… aahh!” the pilot shouted. His communication ended abruptly and cut off.

“Jimmy? Jimmy?” Jon shouted. I finished taking out the remaining fighters and pulled back to the main ship.

“Kaidel! What’s the weapons status?” Jon asked impatiently.

“We’re ready!” Kaidel said. Everyone had made it back into the main ship just as the weapon fire was detected.

            “Raise the shields!” I ordered.

“Already done!” Sean M. said. “I’ve powered on the buffer and energy collector. We’re ready for anything!”

“Good. Make sure that most of the power is sent to the weapon. Use a single backup generator to power the weapon. Do not fire back until their weapon stops,” I said.

“Prepare for impact!” Bob declared. Suddenly, a massive shockwave was felt throughout the entire ship. A few crates here and there fell over, and some of the vehicles toppled over and some landed on other vehicles.

“What was that?” Nick shouted over a loud continues roar.

            “Weapon fire!” Sean M. shouted.

            “That loud?” Nick asked.

“Only near the bay areas,” I shouted. “The blunt of the blow hit the side of the ship!”

“The power of the weapon is pretty pathetic,” Sean M. said.

            “Really?” I asked.

“The power we’re taking in is less than the power in one of the missiles in your missile deployment system,” Bob answered.

“Anything else we need to know?” Sean E. asked.

“Yeah. They weapon is coming from the planet,” a tech said.

“Wow, that’s sad,” Nick said. We made it to the bridge and looked outside the window, which allowed us to see a small green beam coming from the planet (we assumed Kenya, Africa) smacking our shield. Jon’s ship was drifting off to the side, waiting patiently.

“Hey, Sean M., can you target Jon’s ship while holding shields?” I asked.

“Yeah, no problem,” Sean M., answered.

Sean powered up a secondary cannon on the left side of the ship and aimed at the flagship in orbit over the planet.

“Kaidel, get more power into that cannon. They just targeted me,” Jon said hurriedly.

            “Sean?” I asked.

“Ready!” Sean M. shouted and hit the fire button.

“More power now!” Kaidel shouted. Simultaneously, energy from the planet and the energy blast from the cannon launched. For some unknown reason, both blasts were aimed at Jon’s ship.

“Kaidel! What the hell are you doing?” Jon screamed.

            “You fool,” Mini said suddenly.

            “What? Where’s Kaidel?” Jon asked.

“She was never here,” Mini said.

“Wait. I thought that you were with Suzie,” Nick said.

“I am,” Mini replied. We were all quiet for the next couple of minutes. Actually, it was more like the next couple of hours. In the silence, Jon managed to escape, we made it to the planet, Nioki and Brian came to Earth, and we all set up our defenses for our section of the planet.

“Matt?” Candie had come up next to me in the lunch area of the cruiser (parked in Antarctica) with her lunch.

            “Yes?” I asked.

“Aren’t you going to eat?” she asked.

            “I’m fine,” I replied.

“No one’s seen you eat in a week. You have to be hungry,” Candie stated. She watched me as I made no form of response. “Is something bothering you?”

“No,” was my blunt statement. “If I did have a problem, I wouldn’t talk about it; I would simply eradicate it from the equation.”

“That doesn’t always work,” Candie said.

            “I know.”

“It’s like with me and Sean. I want to…” Candie began.

“You know, I just remembered I have some repairs I need to make on my fighter,” I said quickly.

“You said that yesterday,” Candie replied.

            “I didn’t finish,” I said.

“I came in after I ate and saw you finish up. You then sat on the wing and began messing around with one of your guns,” Candie said.

            “Where’s Sean anyway?” I asked.

“He’s been busy with things. He’s also trying to fix the problem you caused a few years ago,” Candie claimed.

“Great. So why is it that you want me to talk to you?” I asked. “Couldn’t you spend time with him?”

“He wanted me to talk to you about a problem he and others feel that is beginning to cloud your judgment,” Candie said.

“If you bring up the fact that I don’t have a girlfriend, I’m leaving,” I cautioned.

“I say that if you don’t get help soon, we should replace you, or even outlaw you,” she said. I leaned over towards her.

“That would not help the situation,” I said.

“I know. But I think Sean would make a better commander than you,” Candie said.

“Are you trying to hint at something?” I asked.

“Maybe,” Candie replied. I sat back into my chair and thought for a moment.

“Why do you even care if I have a girlfriend or not?” I asked.

“Because, you look so lonely. I would help you, but all of the females I know are trying to kill you,” Candie said.

“And I don’t have a problem with that,” I said.

            “Really?” Candie asked surprised.

“Yep. I’m content with that,” I said.

A word of thought from the Cast of Fr33 Typ3/ Stage Series

Hi. It’s the case of Fr33 Typ3/Stage Series. We’d all like to say that if you see Matt, please do not bring this up with him. He’ll rip your throat out. Right Candie?

Right Sean. If you see him, call (555)-555-6288 ext. 633374357 (555-MATT ext. NEEDS HELP). Please call if you see him or if any random, unexplainable explosions occur. There’s a cash reward of $65,000. Thank you for your time. Now, back to the story.

(The Ship commons)

“How can you be content with over three galaxies of females willing to climb over each other to rip your heart out?” Candie asked.

“I don’t have a heart.” Candie simply stared at me. “I’m able to wipe out entire planets without a second thought. Why else would I be able to do that?”

“You are very cold,” Candie said. “But I’m sure that some girl will find you and fall in love with you and do anything to get your attention.”

“As hell they will,” I shouted and stormed off.

Candie sighed and finished her lunch. “If he only looked at the world around him instead of looking straight ahead.”

“Matt, the fleet’s here,” Sean M. said.

“Good. Make sure that they get the formation pattern. We need to be able to take this planet quickly and efficiently,” I said. Sean nodded and began typing up an encrypted message. I went over to the specs for some new enhancements to be added to the A-632 fighters and began checking compatibility.

“Hey Matt,” Sean E. said as he walked up on the bridge.

“Yo. I thought you were busy,” I said.

“No. I was taking a nap. When I woke up, Candie was writing something down and laughing to herself,” Sean said.

“She had some weird talk with me today,” I said.

            “Again?” Sean M. asked.

“Yeah. This time about me not being able to find a girlfriend,” I said.

            “Dumb,” Nick said.

“We all know your position on this Nick,” I said. “Candie said that if I can’t find a girlfriend, I should be banished. That or Sean E. gets to be the new commander. You want the job Sean?”

“No. You can stay at the top of the food chain,” Sean E. said.

            “Gee, thanks,” I said.

“I say he needs help in finding a girlfriend,” Candie said.

“You really don’t know how to drop a topic do you?” I asked.

“I do this to help,” Candie said.

“And to eradicate those you dislike,” I said.

            “What?” Sean E. asked.

“I hacked the GGR database while we were heading to Earth. I found a lot of info on her. From what I could get before I became bored, she only does this to a small selection of people. And she does try to do this to help, but some people go insane from it,” I explained.

“So, she’s not trying to kill you or something?” Sean E. asked.

“No. I have no reason to try,” Candie said.

“Great. I hope you can pilot the A-632 fighters now. We move out in T-30min,” I said.

(40 Minutes later)

“Wow, this is amazing!” Candie exclaimed. We were flying over the Atlantic, heading towards NYC, hoping to get a drop on the GGR.

“You’ve never been over the Atlantic in a jet before?” I asked.

“Have you ever gone on a date before?” Candie responded. Before I did anything, Sean E. came up and prevented me from reacting.

“Matt, cool it,” Sean E. said.

“Fine. But I’m warning you Candie,” I said. We continued our flight in silence until we were somewhere over Northern Virginia. We passed the pentagon, which was crawling with large insects of unknown origin, and over D.C. with the white house now occupied by Jon (his face was on a flag proudly displaying his presence). Candie didn’t get more than 15 feet away from the flag without making a remark.

“That is the ugliest flag I have seen in the past 6 months,” Candie retorted.

“LOL,” I said. We entered Maryland and made a quick pit stop. Here, we landed at an undisclosed airbase now controlled by the N3 and GGR jointly. It was the only neutral location among the N3 and GGR. After the pit stop, we finished the flight to NYC. Before entering the city, we cloaked and rose to a higher altitude.

“Can they see us?” Candie asked.

“Nope. They won’t know we’re here until there’s fire raining from the heavens,” Nick said. With that, we began our bombardment. In 26 minutes, Central Park had become a desolate wasteland, clear enough for us to land and begin invading.

(In a penthouse somewhere in NYC)

“Mother, we’re under attack,” Mini said.

“What the hell?” Suzie said. Outside, there was a massive fire burning in the distance. “Send firefighters to the location.”

“We can’t. They were hit first,” Mini said.

“Who would…” Suzie stopped midsentence. “Very good, Matt. You may make a good host for my friend after all.”

(The burning park)

“She has a parasite?” I asked.

“Yeah. The parasite is really a person who she knew that was infected by this creature and they mixed together. She needs a host to reform ere body, but she’ll only take male host,” Candie explained.

            “Creepy,” I said.

“Yeah. For the past three hundred and sixty-three years, the GGR couldn’t find a host,” Candie said.

“363 years!?” I exclaimed. “I thought the GGR has been around for 30 years!”

“No. Suzie is older than we think because she’s undead,” Candie said.

            “Shit,” I said.

            “What?” Candie asked.

“Why can’t we have normal enemies!?” I asked loudly.

Stage 4.3 The New York Siege Part 1

Okay we had been setting up our defenses and offences for the assault. I had been figuring out where Suzie was hiding out at or if we could simply gas her out.

“Matt! Get out here!” Nick shouted. I climbed out of a tent and looked around. The smoke was clearing, but the sky had a reddish tint to it. The surrounding buildings look abandoned and desolate. Some of the buildings had snipers on them, but that wasn’t a problem.

“Nick. Drop the snipers,” I said. Suddenly, the rooftop snipers exploded into flames and fell off the roof.

“That was fun,” Nick said. “Loads of fun.”

“Great Nick. Why did you call me out?” I asked.

“Candie might have found out where Suzie’s at,” Nick answered.

“Great. Where is she?” I asked.

“That’s the problem. Doing so got her and Sean E. captured,” Nick said.

“Aww…,” I began. I walked over to the weapons tent and geared up. “Guys, let’s move.”

Within ten minutes, Nick, Ryan, Chilli Dog, Sean M., Brandon, Ervin, Paul, and I were ready to take on an entire army. Suddenly a mad theme song began. Shortly after, the song with the line I feel like a woman…began playing. I looked around for the source of the song, but before I could find it, it switched back to the theme song. We began advancing into the city, ready to shoot down anything that moves. Nick noticed something skittering across the road and incinerated it.

“Nick. Don’t burn the entire city down,” I said.

            “Why not?” he asked.

“We still need to find Candie. I personally don’t want to, but I think Sean E. does,” I said. Nick nodded and we continued on.

“Alaini, go kill Nick and the rest of them. Make sure Matt and anyone else you see fit is kept alive,” Mini said.

“Why do I have to take orders from you?” Alaini asked.

“Because Mother said so,” Mini said. Alaini walked out of the room where her boyfriend Steve was waiting.

“I am so sick of this ‘because Mother said so’ stuff,” Alaini complained. “It’s so annoying.”

“I’m glad I don’t have to talk to her then,” Steve remarked.

“Let’s go. We have to stop Matt and his friends,” Alaini said.

“Want to go in the limo?” Steve asked.

“No. Matt might shoot that down before got close to him. Let’s use the subway,” Alaini suggested.

We had been scouring the city for a good three hours and still hadn’t found any trace of Candie. I was walking along the rooftops, hoping something would be too obvious and we could end this pointless search.

“Matt! See anything?” Sean E. asked from the street.

“Nope,” I said. Suddenly, the building beneath me exploded. I fell to the street and rolled far enough away so I wouldn’t get crushed.

“What was that?” Ryan asked. He walked over to the fallen building and began hitting with a pickaxe.

“Is that safe?” Chilli Dog asked.

“I don’t know,” Ryan said. A rock farther up the pile exploded and sent everybody scattering. Nick was already in an attack position, ready to shoot anything that might move. A small figure climbed out of the hole and fell down into the street. The area was dusty, so we couldn’t see who or what it was for a few moments.

            “Anybody hurt?” Ryan asked.

“I am,” a female voice groaned weakly.

“Candie!” Sean E. exclaimed. Before he moved, a hummer shot out from behind a corner and stopped in front of Candie. A door opened and closed then the hummer began to speed off. I threw a tracking device on it and I did try to shoot the tires, but the hummer moved too fast.

“Let’s move people!” I commanded loudly. “Bob, send an ATBV.”

            “Roger that,” Bob said.

            “What?” I asked him.

“I just always wanted to say that,” Bob commented. As we ran down the street, following the signal from the tracking device, the ATBV came up behind us.

“I’m driving!” Nick declared. We climbed in and began speeding down the road. We caught up with the hummer relatively quickly and pulled up beside it. The person in the passenger seat glanced over then looked away. She then snapped her neck to get another look at us as she realized who we were.

“Nick, get closer,” I said. He nodded and began to rub up against the hummer. As he pushed farther into the hummer, it slid onto the sidewalk. I glanced into the side view mirror and saw five more hummers coming up behind us. I climbed out of the passenger area and into a weapons platform on the ATBV (remember, it’s a rather large vehicle; it has many weapons both visible and not so visible). I began using a 132 caliber machine gun (custom design) on the hummers following us.

The bullets ripped through the air and cut through the hummers’ armor. The first hummer exploded in a brilliant blue fireball. The second hummer swerved into a wall on the right of it; the final hummer sped up and rear ended us, but was crushed under the left tire in the process.

“Matt! Hit the tire!” Sean E. called from inside. I turned the gun and aimed at the tire of the hummer we were pursuing.

            “Are you sure?” I asked.

“Just do it!” Nick yelled angrily. I fired a single shot that flew towards the hummer. Time seemed to slow down as I watched the bullet cruise towards the hummer. When it finally did hit, time felt like it slowed even more. The bullet began to tear into the tire, causing it to deflate and sink some. The hummer bounced a little then swerved into us, crushing the front end of the hummer. The engine burst into flames and we all knew what would happen next.

Suddenly, a shadowy figure shot from the wall to our left, into the hummer, and back out again. The figure then came over to us and placed someone in Sean E.’s hands.

            “Sean?” I asked.

“It’s Candie. She’s okay,” Sean E. said. I sighed then climbed into the ATBV, pulled out a P90 and a communicator and made an announcement.

“This is a declaration of war to the GGR and their associates. As of now, we march on the GGR base of operations here in New York. And this time, we know exactly where it is,” I said. “All units meet at the following coordinates in three hours. We begin the raid in three and a half hours.” Everyone inside the ATBV looked at me.

“What are you thinking!?” Nick shouted. I simply pointed to a building in front of us. There was a sudden shimmer, then a hologram failed revealing a castle of undead proportions.

            “Are you serious?” Paul asked.

“That’s where Suzie’s at. I mean it’s obvious now. See that tower in the center?” I asked. I handed everyone binoculars. “Suzie’s watching from right there.” Everyone nodded then began getting ready for an assault.

“Mother? Did you let them find us?” Mini asked Suzie.

“Yes I did. They won’t be able to get past our primary defense,” Suzie said. Mini smiled and giggled a little, then walked into her private quarters.

“I have a really bad feeling,” Nick mumbled.

“Please stop using clichés,” I said.

“What? What did I say?” he asked.

“Never mind,” I said. Within the three hours, over 600 saber tanks, 473ATBVs, 50 A-632 fighters, 73 Blackhawk helicopters, 5 ball tanks, and a few Crushers and Crusher2s came as well. We made a battle formation around the undead fort and began to bombard it. Seconds after the bombardment began; large stone creatures shot off the building and landed in front of the fort, protecting it from the bombardment.

“Gargoyles,” I grumbled. “The only undead thing that is immune to anything human. Anyone have something with energy above normal?”

“Nope,” Nick said. He climbed onto the roof and created a fireball, then threw it at the gargoyles. The fire hit and bounced off harmlessly which led us to try some other offensive weapons. All of them bounced off or were swatted down before they made contact.

“Anything else?” I asked out loud.

“I’ve got nothing,” Sean E. said. Candie shook here head and everybody else simply shrugged.

“What now?” somebody called from afar.

“Regroup and reorganize!” I said. We all turned around and made our way back to the camp. As we were moving, I hopped off and said that I would walk the rest of the way.

I waited until the armada had cleared out, then I began to walk down the remains of the street. Yes, those vehicles did much damage; buildings plowed over, streets and sidewalks reduced to rubble, vehicles on the road made into road, any unfortunate pedestrian made into road kill, it was a mess.

“Could you have done anymore damage?” a female asked from behind. Startled, I turned around with my P90 ready. Seeing a girl, I lowered my weapon and stood there bewildered. The girl stepped out of the shadow, followed by several more females accompanying her. In total there were seven girls, and following them were six guys.

“Seven girls, six guys. Are you a short a member or something?” I asked.

“Why? Do you want to join?” the lead female asked (I call her the lead because she was the first one I saw).

“No. Just curious,” I said. “Who are you?”

“Lilli,” Lilli said. She was a brunette, about 5’ 8”, long hair, (you make up some of the details, note: from a male’s viewpoint: she was hot), and carrying two handguns.

            “I’m Matt,” I said.

“What’s your affiliation with those guys who just crushed their way through?” Lilli asked.

“I guess you could say General or Commander in Chief, but I don’t go by that,” I responded. She gave me a look over then waved over to her little group. She whispered something to the girl that came up, then the girl took off. The guy accompanying her left when she did. I waited a moment before I started to walk away.

“Where are you going?” Lilli asked. I heard a click behind me and I stopped walking.

“I’m assuming you have your gun aimed at me,” I said.

“You’re right. And there’s nothing you can do about it,” Lilli taunted. I stood completely still for a moment then I shot to my left then had my P90 up and ready before Lilli could respond.

“Are you still sure there’s nothing I can do anything about it?” I asked Lilli.

            “Wow, you’re good,” Lilli said.

I’m probably boring you with this, so I’ll pick up again when something is about to happen.

“So, what can we do about those gargoyles?” Nick asked.

“How about a surprise attack?” Sean M. suggested.

“It wouldn’t work. We attacked once and failed, so they’ll be expecting us from any direction,” Candie said.

“Well, if we’re just tossing ideas, how about sandwiches?” Sean E. suggested. A little later, Sean E., Sean M., Candie, and Nick were facing the gargoyles armed with sandwiches. Needless to say, it failed. They simply ran out of sandwiches.

“Why did you take me here?” I asked Lilli as I was escorted by the six dudes, who I failed to mention were hulk-like men.

“We need your ‘special skills’,” Lilli said. I slowed a moment, then the guys behind me pushed me forward. They had taken my P90, so I was seemingly defenseless. I was led to a building about three miles away from where they found me and I was hungry. We had been walking for a good hour and I had begun to look around for good vantage points if the fight would get out of hand.

“How much longer?” I asked. Suddenly, we stopped and I fell a good 60 feet below the surface. When I stopped, I laid there for a few moments so I wouldn’t have a major concussion when Lilli and her friends made it down. Considering her position, she probably has an elevator.

“Okay. I’ve had enough,” Nick declared. “I didn’t want to do this, but I will.” Nick walked out of the planning tent and got into an ATBV and drove off.

“What was he talking about?” Sean E. asked.

            “I don’t know. Where’s Matt?” Candie said.

            “Good question,” Sean E. said.

“Brian, we need to find the N3 so we can get rid of them,” Nioki said. Brian and Nioki’s ship was in orbit over the planet scanning for any sign of N3 activity. So far, they’ve come up empty.

“How can they stay under the radar for so long?” Brian asked himself angrily.

“Matt, we need you to help us finish this,” Lillie said. She pulled a large rope hanging from the ceiling and a massive curtain pulled away, revealing a very crude plasma cannon.

“You want me to help you with that?” I asked.

“We know more about you than you think. Thanks to our two newest members,” Lilli motioned to a small cave to my right. Slowly, Alaini and some guy I have never seen before walked out. I nearly lunged over to stab Alaini when I noticed that her GGR tattoo (if you are confused, most of the GGR have some tattoo declaring their allegiance; I had no reason to mention it until now) was gone.

            “Turntable?” I asked Alaini.

“Yeah. I couldn’t take anymore of Mini and Suzie,” Alaini said.

“Hi. I’m Steve, and I have several good reasons to kill you,” the guy behind Alaini said.

“I have several for you to shut up. Ten exactly,” I said in response.

“Your face!” Steve shouted. I threw a rock at him, but he managed to dodge it before it clocked him in the head.

“Will you two cut it out!” Lilli snapped. I sighed and dropped a rock that was in my hand and Steve dropped the bolder in his hand. “You two are supposed to be very good with this technology. We need this up and running so we can make a run at the GGR and N3.”

“You intend to take down the N3?” I asked surprised. “That’s like saying I am a GGR spy. It’s ironic and impossible.”

            “Are you sure?” Lilli asked.

The next couple of minutes are pretty graphic. Overall, nothing out of the ordinary happens.

“Are you still certain we can’t take you down?” Lilli asked as she put her blouse back on. I was still stunned at her boldness.

            “Y-yeah. I-I’m sure,” I stammered.

I am not going into detail.

Three hours went by as Steve and I finished working on their plasma cannon.

“So, how do you intend to stop a power crazy female who’s obsessed over you?” Steve asked.

“For one thing, she’s not obsessed over me,” I said.

“Then look at the window over there,” Steve said. I looked at the viewing area above us and saw Lilli staring down. When she saw me watching her, she blushed then hurried off.

“Okay. Weird. I am so not used to that,” I stated. “Anyway, when she’s done with attacking the GGR, I’ll have one of my orbiting cruisers take a shot at it. If she goes after us first, then the reflector shield will bee up and bounce the shot back into the GGR.”

“You’re kidding right?” Steve asked. “You have a shield that can stop plasma?”

“Yeah. It stopped a sun from colliding into us once,” I said. Mouth gapping, Steve stared at me. “Can you hand me the monkey wrench? Steve? Steve?”

“I’m back!” Nick declared. Sean E. and Candie looked up at him.

“Couldn’t you have knocked?” Candie asked.

“Sorry!” Nick said quickly. “I’ll wait outside.” A few minutes later, Sean E. and Candie walked out of the tent and found Nick.

“What’s so important that you had to interrupt us?” Sean E. asked.

“This. It’s our ticket to defeating the gargoyles,” Nick said triumphantly. Before them, stood a 12 ½ foot tall chisel with hammer on a large motorized platform.

“What is that?” Sean E. asked.

            “The anti-gargoyle chisel,” Nick said.

“Mother? Why is there a Home Depot ® next door?” Mini asked.

“Why do you ask?” Suzie asked Mini.

“I saw Nick go inside and get a massive chisel and hammer,” Mini said. Suzie stood there for a moment before she responded.

“I knew I should have destroyed that earlier!” Suzie said hotly. As she looked out the window, she saw the giant chisel rolling down the street followed by the N3 attack units. The gargoyles took their position.

            “Raising cannon,” a techie said.

“Well, if you don’t mind, I’ll be going now,” I said.

“You’re not going anywhere,” Lilli said.

“Are you going to stop me?” I asked.

            Again, graphic details.

“You do make a convincing argument,” I said.

            “I do, don’t I?” Lilli said.

            “Why can’t I leave?” I asked.

“Because I love you,” Lilli said. It was quiet for a moment, then the sound of scurrying was heard. Lilli turned around and saw me scaling the wall, making my way for the hole in the roof.

“How did he get over there?” Steve asked.

            “Matt’s a ninja,” Alaini said.

“It’s n1nj4!” I shouted from the wall. I made it to the hole and made it to the surface. When I stood back up, Lilli was standing before me.

“Why won’t you stay?” Lilli asked as she held my hands.

“I have a war to finish. If I lose, humanity is done for and…” I started to say. We both broke out laughing from my stupid joke. “Seriously, I am at war. The GGR is my first target. If you helped, that would be great.”

            “I don’t know,” Lilli said.

“Well, I’ll leave you to think about it,” I said. “I need to go grab some gear for this battle with the GGR.” Lilli nodded and I took off running down the street.

“Lilli, you’re just going to let him go?” Alaini asked.

“I put a tracker on him,” Lilli said. “I’ll know if he goes to the GGR about us.” Seconds later, I reappeared with several tanks, weapons, and a few soldiers.

“You want some help with repositioning the plasma cannon?” I asked Lilli.

(Seconds earlier)

“Sean!” I shouted as I burst into armory tank.

            “Matt!” Sean E. shouted. “Knock!”

            “In here?” I shouted back.

“What do you want?” he asked. Without looking at him, I quickly explained what happened and what needed to be done.

“Can you do that?” I asked.

“Yeah. Give me a sec,” he answered.

(Now)

“Okay, thanks,” Lilli said. “How did you do this so quickly?”

            “Mad n1nj4 sk1llz,” I said.

            “Right,” Lilli nodded.

“We need to reposition that cannon before the GGR sees it,” I said. I had just finished my sentence when a massive explosion occurred behind me.
