Stage 3.1 Planet of Wax

We had been traveling for weeks since the incident on planet PC3-3695R (N3 name) and decided to show Jake, Joey, Bilal, and Solomon around. (Note: Solomon was the pilot of the helicopter.)

“So, where are we going first?” Joey asked. He was standing at a viewing window at the command bridge.

“The closest planet we can get to. We do this because we need to make sure that the GGR hasn’t influenced too much within the last few months,” I said. Joey nodded and continued looking out the window.

            “Hey, Matt?” Jake said.

            “Yeah?” I replied.

“What’s this?” Jake pointed to a small blip on the radar screen.

“Not sure. Nick, put this on the main screen,” I said. Nick walked over to a computer console and entered some commands. The radar screen appeared on the largest screen on the bridge and also had a live view of what was in that same direction of the fleet. I spotted a small speck on the live screen and walked over to a console. I zoomed in so that I could see what the speck was.

            “What is it?” Joey asked.

“Looks like a planet,” Bilal said.

“Yeah, I’d say so,” Jake agreed.

“I think we should go over there and take over!” Joey shouted. We all stared at him for a moment. “What?”

“We’re going there, but we’re not conquering. Three recon teams are going down to the planet. The first team will be Nick, Sean E., Sean M., and me. Joey, Jake, Solomon, and Bilal are the second team. The last team will be Ryan, Paul, Jim, and the midget over there.”

            “Yo!” the midget shouted.

I looked around and asked, “Any questions?”

“Yeah, can I use the helicopter?” Solomon asked.

“It’s being retrofitted with some new gear,” I said.

            Location: Unknown

“I have received a message from the gods!” a man shouted. Thousands of people cheered from nowhere. “The gods have said that invaders are coming and that we must resist! They are demons from a distant land and are coming to destroy us!”

“What shall we do?” a woman asked.

“We must stand up and fight!” the man replied loudly.

“How will we know that they intend to destroy us?” another man shouted.

“We will threaten them! Then we will…”

“Won’t that only cause them to attack?” a little girl asked.

            “Yes, but…”

“Couldn’t we pretend to be friendly, then if they truly intend to destroy us, we kill them on site?”

“Good idea! I love the little ones. When the invaders come, we will be hospitable, then destroy them! Hahahahahahahahahahahahahaha!” The people in the area cheered and laughed along with the man.

“How long until we arrive?” Nick asked. We were in a small transport filled with equipment and food. Along with that, you have eight people in the transport. A second transport was filled with the same except there were only four people and one was a midget.

“We should be there any…” I began to say when we hit something extremely hard.

            “What the…” Jake began.

“We hit a small patch of wax, sorry,” the pilot said.

            “Wax?” I asked.

“Yes sir. There appears to be wax everywhere,” the pilot informed.

“Be careful and land in a clearing,” I instructed him.

“Does it matter if there is wax were we land?” the pilot asked.

“As long as it ain’t bumpy,” Jake said.

            “Sir?” the pilot asked.

“What the other guy said,” I responded.

“Very good sir,” the pilot answered. Everyone looked at me and stared. I shrugged my shoulders and moved to a somewhat comfortable spot.

We landed shortly after and unloaded our gear. Nick made sure that his FTSE was in proper working order and I put together a flamethrower for Joey. He walked off and fell off a cliff of wax. We walked over and saw him sliding down the cliff and watched as he hit a tree… made of wax. Weird. I got the rest of the gear together and sent everyone in different directions.

“This place is so weird,” Nick said. We walked past a river and Nick put his hand in.

“You sure that’s safe?” I asked him.

“Not sure, but it feels like wax. I mean, it’s white but it still flows like water,” Nick said.

“True,” I said. “The area where you would find grass is green and ‘rocks’ are brown. It’s like different color wax for different things.”

We continued walking for a while until we found a city. We stopped and hid behind some “bushes” and viewed the city entrance through some binoculars.

“There are people standing there waiting for us, or somebody. They have a sign, but it’s in an unknown language,” Sean E. said.

“Maybe, they’re from a different planet,” Sean M. suggested. We turned to look at him. “Wait, we are on a different planet, duh.” I rolled my eyes and took the binoculars from Sean E.

“I’d say we check it out. If that area is all wax and it’s a trap, Nick will melt us out of here,” I said.

“Alright!” Nick cheered. We stood up and walked towards the city.

“They’re coming! The visitors are coming!” a girl cried. (It’s rather convenient that they speak English, don’t you think?) Suddenly, thousands of wax people came over to us and carried us in and placed us in chairs elevated high above the ground. Everyone from the other scout teams were also up here.

“Hey guys,” I said as we were seated. “What’s going on?”

“Don’t know, but I do know that we have been stuck to these chairs,” Paul said.

            “Stuck?” I asked.

“It’s too late for you!” a man cried suddenly. “The gods have told us of your arrival and your plan! Now you will die!”

“Nick?” I asked. Nick nodded and lit himself on fire for a mere second. The heat from his fire was hot enough to melt his chair and everyone else’s chair as well. We hopped up and pulled out our weapons.

“You cannot escape!” the crazy man shouted. I was using my solar cannon so I fired a single round shot at the building he was standing on. The wax melted and he fell to the ground. We forced our way out of the city and into the country side (I think).

“I can’t believe they were going to kill us!” I exclaimed. “How were they going to kill us?”

            “Don’t know,” Nick answered.

“We were going to imprison you in a wax chamber, sealed in forever, just as the gods instructed!” the crazy wax man shouted.

“Nick, when we get a chance, flame him,” I said.

            “With pleasure,” Nick answered.

“Okay, I say we go in and take them by force then burn the city to the ground!” Joey exclaimed.

“No. What we’re going to do is move around the city and barricade it. Soon, we strike and eliminate the city, then we move on and finish off the planet,” I explained.

“Fine, my team will go this way,” Jake said. They walked off and the rest of us stood around and waited.

When they were out of earshot, the midget looked up at us. “I have a bad feeling about them.”

“If you ever say that line again, I will shoot you,” I said. The midget nodded then walked off in a different direction with his team. Nick and I looked around and decided to set up two small, auto-fire defense fire turrets at the main entrance of the city. When we returned, we found Sean E., and Sean M. no longer around waiting for us.

“Where are they?” I asked Nick.

“I don’t know,” Nick answered. We looked around for a few minutes when we found footprints in the wax ground. I motioned to Nick for him to follow me and the footprints. We followed the prints until we reached the entrance of the city.

“Great, now what?” Nick asked. I shrugged and began to walk inside the city.

            “You coming?” I asked,

“Are you nuts?” Nick asked back.

“Yes, I am slightly insane,” I answered.

“Fine,” Nick said. We walked into the city while remaining crouched down so we wouldn’t be spotted the moment we walked in.

As we were walking, we overheard some wax people talking about the prisoners they had just captured. We stopped and listened for a moment to find out anything about the location of Sean E. or Sean M. After waiting for a few moments, we decided to move on. Just as we started to move, we did hear something worthwhile waiting for.

“As soon as we capture the other two, we will enclose them in wax, then sell to the gods,” one man said.

“Are you sure the gods want them?” someone else asked.

“Yes, I am sure. The gods most desire the mean one,” the first guy said. As we sat there, I pulled out an RPG and stepped back until I was able to shoot into the window without being seen. I motioned to Nick to step to the side. I aimed right into the window and waited for a moment. When I felt that I couldn’t wait too much longer, I launched a grenade. Before it even made it inside the room, I had dived over to a spot where I couldn’t be seen. The grenade landed and sat there for a moment. Nick looked at me worried because the grenade didn’t go off. Just as he was about to stand up, the grenade detonated. The flames burst out into the street and melted the entire area, which was good for us.

“Let’s move!” I shouted. Nick and I burst into a run and didn’t stop when we heard some shouting behind us. We turned a corner and found a fire escape, or whatever they would use this for. We climbed up and didn’t stop until we were at the roof. I ran over to the side and looked down. Joey, Jake, Bilal, and Solomon were among the crowd and seemed to be organizing things. I waved to Nick to come see this. He walked over and looked down as well.

“The midget was right,” Nick said. “We need to get rid of them.”

“True, but why are they working for them?” I asked.

“Don’t know. Still, we need to keep moving,” Nick said. I agreed and stood up and walked away from the edge of the roof.

“But before we go,” I said. I placed several C62380s on the roof and set them on a timer for five minutes. “We’ll leave them a little parting gift. Let’s move. We only have five minutes.” We started running and stopped when I realized that there was a crowd right beneath us.

“Matt, why did you start running?” Joey asked us. “We were just looking for the guys who were captured. What are you doing?”

“Looking for Sean and Sean,” I said. “Why do you care?”

“We’re on the same side aren’t we?” Joey asked. I gave him an odd look then backed up from the edge of the roof.

            “Well?” Nick asked.

“We need a new escape route,” I said. We ran back some so that we could figure out a new escape.

“How big will the explosion be?” Nick asked.

“Large enough to wipe out most of the city and surrounding areas. Do you think they use farms here, or even eat?” I asked.

“Don’t know. I haven’t seen anything that looks remotely like an animal or a plant. Just wax. Lots and lots of wax.” Nick looked around and stopped suddenly.

            “What?” I asked.

            “We’re being watched,” Nick answered.

“Can you tell by what?” I asked.

“Nope, but I do know its location,” he said.

“Want to go over there and see what’s up?” I asked.

            “Sure why not?” Nick replied.

“Use your MP5, we don’t want a huge mess everywhere we go,” I answered.

“Fine, I’d rather use my tank sniper though,” Nick said. We began our trip over to the location to see what was up.

“What would happen if it was Joey or his crew?” I asked.

“Eliminate them,” Nick said. “Why did you ask me?”

“Because, I have my doubts about them,” I answered.

“I do too, but still, if they’re a threat, we must remove them from the situation,” Nick said solemnly.

We made it to the location of the unidentified watcher and stayed hidden as we watched this person. From what we could see, the person was human. (The target wasn’t made of wax.) As the person made their way to the window, I noticed cat ears.

            “Cat girl?” I asked Nick.

“Maybe,” he answered. We sat around a little longer to determine what the person was and what they were doing.

“Hey, where did they go?” a female asked. It took me a few minutes to determine that it was Nioki who had been watching us.

“Matt?” Nick asked in a whispered voice. I pointed to a roof still out of Nioki’s field of vision.

“It’s Nioki. Suzie must be nearby. And, if I’m right, they probably have something to do with the disappearance of Sean and Sean.” I looked at the building and noticed several bumps on the wall closest to us.

            “What now?” Nick asked.

“I think I know where they are,” I said. Before we could do anything else, several wax men formed out of the building’s roof. They were each eight feet tall and carried some weird looking guns. The wax they were composed of was a light yellow and was mixed in with some pink.

“Surrender. You are now surrounded by the elite guards of the gods,” the closest and biggest guy said.

Another one of the guards stepped up next to him and said, “Resistance is futile.” I nearly cried from that cliché. Nick was bold enough to ask the guards a question.

“Who are your gods?” Nick asked.

“How dare you ask such a thing!” the tallest of the guards (8’ .5”) shouted. He was about to bash Nick’s head when the first guard stopped him and whispered something in his ear. The big guy grunted and backed off.

“You will come with us. The gods wish to speak with you,” the first guard said.

“Fine,” I said. We followed the wax men into the building where Nioki was watching us from. We walked into the main entrance and were forcefully stopped in the center of the room. A large wax bubble formed around us and filled itself with wax, then it accelerated us up several stories. I couldn’t count how many floors there were because we were moving so fast.

We stopped suddenly and the wax melted into the floor. Nick and I, for some reason, we suddenly thrown into the ceiling when the wax and completely melted away. We fell to the floor and heard the guards laughing at us.

“Enough!” a girl said. This time, I knew that it was Nioki who was speaking. “Gather their weapons and place them with the others.”

I suddenly felt someone grab me and throw me against a wall. Before I could move, my hands and feet were encased in wax. Nick was chucked into the wall as well and his hands were also encased. I looked around and saw that the entire crew, minus Joey and friends, were here also.

“Hey, Matt. Nice of you to join us,” Sean E. said.

            “Ha-ha,” I said. “What happened?”

“We were ambushed by these bulky wax dudes. We were brought here and have been held here,” Sean E. explained.

“That’s true, but do you know why you’re all here?” Nioki asked.

            “Nope,” I responded.

            “No,” Sean M. said.

            “Not a clue,” Bob said.

“Bob, why don’t you go get some help?” I asked him.

“Sure,” Bob replied.

“Stop him!” Nioki ordered. The guards jumped Bob, but they went straight through him.

“Bob’s a hologram and he’s not really in this building. Where are you?” I asked him.

“I am in many different places man. You were responsible for my creation,” Bob answered.

“Fine. He won’t be able to send for help anyway.” Nioki seemed pretty annoyed for some unknown reason. “Anyway. I captured you all because of what I can use you for.” She didn’t finish before we were giving her sideways glances.

“What exactly do you mean?” I asked.

“I can ensure power here by killing all of you,” Nioki said.

“Oh, okay. For a minute there I thought you meant,” I began.

“Shut up!” Nioki snapped. I stopped talking for a moment and tried to free my hand. I look at Nick and saw a red glow behind the wall (mostly because the wall was partially melted).

“Okay, so you want to kill us. But what makes you think that you won’t be picked off by an orbital strike?” Nick asked.

“A shield,” Nioki said. “But, you won’t get to see the shield because you’ll already be dead.” Nioki turned around and walked down a stairway. The wax guys came and pulled us off the wall and placed us in wax chairs. They carried the chairs to the center of the room and we were brought down in the wax elevator again. When we stopped, we didn’t fly into the ceiling like before.

We were placed on a high platform facing a massive plaza filled with thousands of wax bodies. I looked out to the edge of the city and saw several saber tanks sitting waiting for orders.

“Miss,” a wax girl (I guess [the voice was feminine]) said.

            “Yes?” Nioki responded.

“There are enemy tanks outside the city. No one knows what they’re doing, but the do pose a threat. I propose that we raise the shield,” The girl said.

“Go. Make sure no one leaves or enters the city without the proper authorization,” Nioki commanded. She walked over to us and smiled. “I guess you will get to see our shield.” Nioki laughed and walked over to a podium.

“Nick,” I whispered. “Can you get us a way out?”

“Only if you can make a distraction,” Nick replied.

“Get my hands free so I can do that,” I said. Nick nodded and melted the wax that kept his hands held down and melted the wax over my hands.

“My people! Come and see your goddess demonstrate her power!” Nioki said in an extremely loud voice that was even loud for her. Before she turned around, I had stood up and walked up behind her.

“Look out behind you!” some one in the crowd shouted.

“Fool! She knows what is about to happen!” another wax person shouted in response. Nioki turned around and looked at me.

“So, you managed to escape the wax entrapment. That still won’t save you from your doom,” Nioki gloated. I simply smiled and raised my arms into the air. By that point Nick had gotten everybody free.

“Everyone! Down!” Sean M. shouted. Everyone dropped as a massive lightning bolt crashed down through the wax shield, melting it, and striking me. The heat of the lightning (1,000,000°F) radiated out from me and the hole in the shield and melted the wax in a 500 foot radius around the two spots. The others had begun running to the shield before I could even get away from Nioki. The wax beneath m feet had melted as well, causing me to slow down while leaving. As I mushed along, the wax hardened again, trapping me.

“You fool. You should have known that you couldn’t have made it even if you tried,” Nioki taunted. Again, a lightning bolt struck me, but the lightning was larger and 3x hotter than before. The wax around me boiled, allowing me a chance to run.

            “Where’s Matt?” Nick asked.

“Over here!” I shouted as I ran down an isolated street.

“Great! Stand back!” Nick shouted. Nick lit his hands on fire and launched two massive fire balls at the shield. I stopped at the rear of the group to make sure that we wouldn’t get ganged up on.

Nioki was back at the stage getting her army together. Several of them were rebuilding themselves because they were melted by the second lightning bolt.

“Miss, they are escaping by punching through the shield!” Nioki’s second in command said. Nioki sighed and looked around and saw a large red spot on the shield of the far side of the city.

“Send a strike team to try and cut them off. If they make it through, make sure the strike team returns. They have dangerous equipment outside the shield,” Nioki instructed. The girl nodded and ran off.

Nick finished burning through the shield, but not before several wax brutes came running towards us. I pulled out my P90 and started shooting at the brutes. Unfortunately, I only had a few shots left and didn’t have ay extra ammo.

“Nick! Get over here and get rid of these guys!” I shouted to him as the remaining brutes approached.

“Give me a sec!” he shouted back. I found my knife in my shoe and pulled it out of its holster and prepared to fight off the brutes. Before they were close enough for me to get into a knife battle, a stream of flames shot out from behind, terminating the wax brutes.

The next several hours were basically the same. We bombarded the wax city until it was nothing more than a huge pool of melted wax. We had left the planet’s surface and were in orbit until a GGR cruiser dropped out of hyperspace. They used a weapon that was supposed to rip through us, but it hit and provided more power to the shields and engines. We ended up getting the information for the weapon and used it in our ships. It soon became the ultimate weapon that we used to destroy planets.

Little did we know, when we had destroyed the wax planet, Nioki had escaped and vowed revenge on us, the N3 and rule the known universe. Man would his one bite us in the butt, both soon and hard.

Stage 3.2 A New Enemy

It’s been three days since we started following Nioki’s signal from her ship. We had a few bad leads, mostly being broadcasted at a N3 frequency.

“Why do we want to go here?” Nick asked.

“How many people broadcast at a N3 frequency?” I asked.

“True, but it could be an ambush,” Nick responded.

“Yeah, but we do have the defensive and offensive capabilities to withstand an attack for a good three and half weeks, nonstop,” I said.

“Still, we should be careful,” Nick said.

“Fine. When we get there, we’ll cloak. It should prevent any sudden attacks,” I said. I walked over to the navigation computer and put in the coordinates for the beacon.

“Why do I have to do this, Suzie?” Candie asked. Candie is a spy for the GGR along with her two sisters, Candy and Candi. Candy is the master technician and Candi is a master fighter pilot. Candie was sitting inside a small escape pod, talking to Suzie over a transmitter on a GGR frequency.

“We need intel on the N3. Especially Matt. He’s been a nuisance ever since he started opposing us. If we can get information on his ships, weapons, bases, or anything of the sort, we can take him down,” Suzie explained.

“Okay. But what if they catch me?” Candie asked.

Just try to escape as soon as possible,” Suzie responded.

“Okay. I’ll check in again in 5 hours,” Candie said.

“Roger,” Suzie said then disconnected from the connection.

“We’re about one hour away from the signal,” Sean M. announced.

“Okay. Recovery team, on standby,” I announced over the intercom. When we had reached our destination, the recovery team went out and investigated.

“It’s a GGR escape pod. From the looks of it, it was manufactured to look shot up,” the leader of the team said.

“Roger that. Collect and bring it to the docking bay,” I said.

“Roger that?” the team leader asked.

“I just wanted to say that,” I said.

“If it’s made to look like it was shot up, then,” Sean E. began to say.

“Then the person or persons inside are spies for the GGR,” I said.

“So why are we bringing it on board?” Sean E. asked. “That’s putting us in jeopardy!”

“Not necessarily,” I said. “We could use the spies to our advantage. The spy might also know something about Nioki’s location.”

“You do make a convincing argument,” Sean E. replied thoughtfully.

            “But this isn’t a debate,” I said.

“How do you know?” Sean E. asked. I rolled my eyes and went over to the landing bay.

“I really need to get those guys off of my tail,” Nioki said to herself as she flew towards another planet. “Well, this planet has life, so maybe someone here can help me.”

Nioki was in a GGR fighter that she stole off a cruiser when she had been captured a few days ago. She had managed to make it to a planet with very little life signs. There was one large city, and nothing else surrounding the area. From space, it was a little green and blue spot amongst blackened earth. Suddenly, a communication hail appeared on her HUD.

“What is that? The computer doesn’t recognize it and neither do I,” Nioki said.

“Intergalactic garbage man,” a male voice said over the communication. “Here to get your worthless junk.”

“Sorry. I don’t have anything,” Nioki responded.

“That’s okay; I’m still in the planet’s atmosphere. I just finished my run. Say, my name’s Brandon. What’s yours? Brandon asked.

            “Nioki,” she replied.

“Really? Nice name. Well, I’d best be going,” Brandon said. Suddenly, a communication channel opened up and had a text message on screen.

It read: Get your skinny little face back here, you two timing spy for the N3! If you do not respond in 2.3874 seconds, you will be shot down.

“What? A N3 spy!?” Nioki asked herself with urgency. Her HUD blipped a few times and she noticed that weapons on the surface had just powered up. Within an instant, a massive cruiser was seen leaving the planet with a N3 inscription on it. The ground weapons fired a few times, simply hitting the shield. The cruiser turned so that some of the defensive side weapons faced the planet surface and started firing.

“You can’t escape!” a voice said over the radio.

“Yeah right!” Brandon replied. The cruiser suddenly sped up, then jumped into hyperspace. Just as it was jumping, the cruiser took one last shot, but not at the surface, but at Nioki and her fighter. She responded by powering up her engines enough to get her moving, even though she would still get hit. The blast clipped her and wiped out her engines. Unfortunately for her, she also lost her reverse thrusters and stabilizers. The fighter entered the atmosphere above the city and plummeted downwards. As the ship fell, it began to tear apart, wings first, then anything that stuck out. Soon, it was flaming rubble and trash freefalling to the planet surface moving at terminal velocity.

“Wait, she was in orbit above the planet?” I asked Brandon. (By the way, the escape pod held one person named Candie. She began hanging with Sean E. since she saw him and won’t talk to anyone else. If she’s a spy, then she’s doing a terrible job at it.)

“Yeah. I was shot at as I escaped from the planet, but I took out those defenses and the aircraft bay. You should have no problem getting in. Plus, now that we know were Nioki’s at, then we can take her out too,” Brandon said.

“True,” I said. “What was she doing when you saw her?”

“Nothing, but I did shoot at her, hoping she would make a move to evade the shot, and crash into the planet,” Brandon said.

“Good. So we’ll get ready and head there now,” I said.

The next 20 hours are dull, so I’ll spare you the details and simply sum it up in 76 words.

We get to the planet. The GGR tries to set up an ambush, but we take it out with the help of the spy. Candie falls in love. The GGR goes to the planet. We go to the planet. The city says that Brian’s a Pimp (literally). Nick blows stuff up. We land. We gear up and head out to invade a city, remove Nioki from the equation, and find this new threat to the galaxies.

“Candie, you and,” I stopped for a moment. Candie was, as usual, hanging on to Sean E. “Why don’t you, Sean E., Sean M., and Nick go east.”

“Fine,” Nick said. He picked up his Tank Sniper and walked off. Sean E. found a MP5 and an AK-47 and gave a LAW rocket launcher to Candie. Sean M. had his cookies.

As Sean E. walked out of the armory tent, Nick walked up to him and started talking.

“Do you really trust her with a weapon?” Nick asked.

“Look, she ratted out her own people. I say that she’ll help us take out Nioki,” Sean E. responded.

“I still don’t trust her,” Nick said. “She was a GGR spy who’s now a turntable.”

“I don’t care,” Sean E. said angrily. “She helped us once, so that doesn’t mean she’s going to kill us the next chance she gets!”

“Guys! Let’s go!” Sean M. called.

“Hang on! I’ll go get Candie,” Sean E. said.

“Oh, that hurt,” Nioki groaned. She was buried in the remainders of her former ship. Most of it was burned up in the atmosphere, but what did survive crashed and buried her. She had spent the past 20 hours trying to get a clearing large enough for her to climb out. In the distance, an explosion occurred, sending rubble, ash, and various other things flying towards her. She slipped back into the pile of ship parts as the trash flew over head.

“Now what’s going on?” Nioki asked herself. She climbed out of the pile and made her way towards the explosion.

“Sean! What are those cookies made of?” Nick asked as the smoke cleared.

“I forgot. I think it’s nitroglycerin, sodium, and water,” Sean M. said.

“Sodium and water!?” Nick asked hysterically.

“What? I thought it was a good idea at the time!” Sean M. shouted.

“Sean?” Candie said to Sean E.

            “Yeah?” he replied.

“Who’s that?” Candie asked and pointed to a figure on a nearby rooftop.

            “Nioki!” Sean E. exclaimed.

“What?” Sean M. and Nick exclaimed simultaneously.

“There! Candie, use the rocket!” Sean E. commanded. Candie aimed and fired two shots. One was aimed directly at Nioki, the other was aimed at the building. When Candie and Sean E. saw what the rockets looked like, they instinctively looked at Sean M.

“What?” he asked. “It blows up like a rocket, so there’s no difference.” The cookies hit the building, and the other missed. Nioki had managed to move from her original spot to another roof closer to Nick and Sean M. Candie spun around and fired again at Nioki.

“Why are you still shooting?” Nick asked irritated.

“Because I heard you say that I was a turntable and I might not help you, so I’m proving you  wrong!” Candie shouted.

            “Oh, sorry,” Nick apologized.

“Can we talk about this later?” Sean M. asked suddenly. Nioki had jumped down and was attacking Sean M., who was defending himself using a dagger and a grenade launcher. Sean E. ran over to Sean M. and began fighting off Nioki using a sword.

“Candie, here!” Nick shouted and he tossed a small communicator to her.

“What do I do with this?” Candie asked.

“Call the others!” Nick said. He pulled out his X-sword and jumped into the battle.

“I hope this works,” Candie said and she hit the red button that said push.

“Hey Matt. Here,” Paul said. He tossed me a scanner with a small red blip in the far east section of the city.

“It’s a distress beacon from Nick’s transmitter,” Paul explained.

“Let’s go. I’ll send for reinforcements. Unfortunately, we’re spread pretty thin right now,” I said.

(Earth)

“Hey Kaidel,” Jon said. “I thought you left earth.”

“I did,” she answered. “I had to come back though. It was getting really scary out there.”

“Wow. It doesn’t matter though,” Jon said.

            “Why?” Kaidel asked.

“I now control Earth! No one opposed me and none shall prevent me from conquering this galaxy, the next galaxy, and the ones after that!” Jon exclaimed.

(Wherever we are)

“Matt!” Nick shouted from behind a small wall. “It’s about time!” I rolled over to him as a rock flew past my face. Nick shot up and began firing his Tank Sniper, but with no results.

            “That was useful,” I said.

“Shut up,” Nick snapped. “We haven’t been able to deliver a blow.”

“Hey Chilli Dog!” I shouted. A guy driving a jeep sped on to the scene and began firing a machine gun at Nioki. Nioki dodged every single bullet and slashed his tires.

“Aw…” Chilli Dog started. Before he could finish, his jeep exploded.

“That’s it! We’re going to terminate her!” I declared.

“Only if you catch me!” Nioki shouted playfully. She took off with all of us running after her.

Stage 3.3 World In Flames

“Get her!” I shouted. We had been chasing Nioki for the past three hours since we found her. Candie and Sean E. were following her via rooftop, Nick in a fighter, Sean M. and Layne were following Nioki on the ground, and I was wall running.

“Do you really think your pathetic attempts to stop me will really work?” Nioki taunted as she spun around in mid-air to face us.

“Do NOT use that cliché!” I shouted back. I was about to shoot her, but the wall beneath me collapsed and I fell inside a small room. From the size, and the fact that there were brooms and mops all over the place, I’d say it was a broom closet. I felt around for the door, and when I couldn’t find one, I used a small explosive and blew a new door open. I stepped through the makeshift door and saw that the door was to the left of my hole.

“What was that?” some random guy shouted from a distance. I didn’t bother investigating the source of the voice because the source had already come charging towards me.

            “Um, hi,” I began.

“Stop thief! Security! To arms!” the guy shouted with authority. Several dozen hefty looking gorillas barreled towards me waving short knives at me. I decided I liked the broom closet better than this hall, but before I could climb in, both the door, and the hole I managed to create were covered by a force field.

“Oh, sh…” I started to say when a loud, powerful voice came on over an intercom.

“Intruder in the premises! Lockdown protocol activated! All security teams on guard.” The voice repeated itself several times before a loud ear piercing shrill came on.

“Great. Now what?” I grumbled under my breath as I ran down the hall. Not wanting the security detail catch up, I decided to use the ventilation system. Unfortunately, someone already thought ahead. All the vents had force fields over them. So, I simply used explosives and my guns to hold them back.

“Where’s your leader?” Nioki taunted as she maneuvered down the shattered street. “Is he to scared to fight me?”

“He ran into an issue that is of more importance!” Sean E. shouted from a roof.

“That hurts my feelings,” Nioki said.

“Shut up and surrender!” Nick shouted. He stopped, aimed his Tank Sniper (TS) and shot several times. Nioki evaded them with great ease.

“Nick! Your insistent shooting is not helping!” Paul snapped. Paul rolled behind an overturned vehicle as 5 small rockets blew past. When he stood up, he fired a few times with his AR-16.

“Yours isn’t helping either!” Nick snapped back.

“Boys, boys, you both suck at shooting,” Nioki said. Both Nick and Paul took offense and fired like mad men at Nioki. When both stopped firing, and the smoke, dust, ashes, and random debris settled down, Nioki stood there looking shocked.

“How is she not dead?” Paul demanded.

“Maybe you should ask Matt. Oh, wait! He’s not here. How silly of me,” Nioki taunted. Sean E. flew down and swung a dual edged battle axe violently at her head. Nioki simply side stepped him, then kicked him in the ribs (which were previously injured).

“Cheap shot!” Sean E. yelled as he collapsed on the floor. Candie was by his side in a second.

            “Oh, this fun!” Nioki declared.

“Shut up!” Nick shouted angrily. He dropped from the roof and charged Nioki.

“Can we at least talk about this?” I asked from behind a corner of a wall. The security had changed from gorilla men to short dudes with guns. A spray of bullets came as an answer. I dropped to the floor and responded with my own spray of bullets.

“Why can you not capture him?” a voice yelled angrily.

“We are sorry sir! He has evaded us with most skill and dexterity,” one of the security guards said. I thought they might stop shooting, but and even larger and more aggressive spray of bullets came instead. I poked out enough to shoot when I heard the voice command his security to cease fire.

            “Thank you,” I whispered.

“Who are you?” the voice said. I didn’t respond, but I did recognize the voice somewhat. I just couldn’t put a face with it. “I said who are you?”

“Answer him!” the security guy said (whom I assume was in command of the security forces) with fear in his voice.

“Silence!” the voice shouted. Suddenly, the lead security guy screamed and something dropped to the floor. I don’t think we’ll be hearing from him any time soon. After hearing that, I decided to take my chances with this guy and step out from the corner. Could you imagine the look on my face when I saw Brian standing there?

            “Brian?” I asked cautiously.

“Matt?” Brian asked. “I thought you were killed.”

“No. Just sent around the realm of time and then through the galaxy. I thought you were on Earth,” I said.

“I was. Until I found a ship sitting in a secret space port in Seattle. When I got close enough, I saw that it was unmanned and ready to fly. When I got on, Kaidel managed to get on with me. I didn’t know she was on until we were well into the flight. She stayed in her room though. Said that this was boring and wanted to kill something.

“When we found this planet, it was inhabited with primitive humans. Horse and buggy, lanterns, muskets, no plumbing. It was all so primitive,” Brian explained.

“That sounds like 1700’s America,” I cut in.

“So? Still primitive to me. Anyway, I took over and had them rebuild the city using my ship. When it was finished, I taught them my ways and the way of the pimp. They also made me their ruler.” Brian stood triumphantly. I nearly gagged.

“So, why did you leave Earth?” I asked as I drank some water (there was a water fountain next to me).

“Jon had amassed a huge army and began taking out the GGR. Soon he had conquered Earth, except for Antarctica for some reason. He said something about the most powerful evil being there. I assumed you, but I knew you hadn’t been on Earth, or Jon would have never gotten where he is now. By the way, he intends to go after your planets,” Brian said.

That bastard,” I said under my breath. “Anyway, I didn’t mean to cause this. So if you don’t mind, I’ll just be on my way.” I slowly began to walk away from Brian when a wall simply exploded.

“There you are Matt!” Ryan said. “Nioki owning everyone! We need back up!”

            “Whose Nioki?” Brian asked.

“Nobody,” I said quickly. “Okay, give me five minutes.”

“You won’t have five minutes!” Brian shouted. “I vowed I would kill you! So, now I will get to fulfill my vow!”

“Crap,” I said. Before I could jump out through the open wall, Brian jumped me using a sword and claws (you know, the ones that you put over your fingers that make you look like Wolverine from X-Men). I just barley managed to pull out my sword in time to prevent my getting skewered.

“You will die!” Brian shouted in complete insanity.

“You can’t be serious,” Nioki said. She kicked Paul in the right arm and they all heard it snap. Everyone was on the ground (except for Nioki) and were moaning, groaning, or trying to get enough strength to keep fighting.

“I will kill you,” Nick said weakly.

“Really? How? By glaring at me as you are now? I expected more from you. You are the elite of the elite. How could I defeat you? Too bad I have to kill you all. You were fun fighting though,” Nioki said. Paul, being closest to her feet, was her first choice to be killed. She extended her claws (from her fingers, yes) and slowly began to cut Paul at his right shoulder.

            “Gah!” Paul shouted.

“Does it hurt?” Nioki asked. When Paul said nothing, she laughed in sheer pleasure of watching him suffer. “You know it hurts, and you also know that there’s nothing you can do about it.” Before she had finished severing Paul’s arm off, I came soaring down the street. Right into Nioki. When I pulled myself off of her, she was pissed. Not only had I prevented her from torturing Paul, I had basically broken her little untouchable streak.

“Sorry,” I apologized. “Brian just hit me with one of his insane moves. I’ll get to you in a minute.”

“I think you should look at your friends first,” Nioki said as she brushed herself off. I did, and as you know, everyone was on the ground, in pain and injured, Paul being worst off.

            “What happened?” I asked.

“Her,” Sean E. said weakly. “Matt, run!” I never got the chance to. Brian had made it all the way down the street and was ready to slice my head off. Nioki kicked me in the side and Brian made a swing at my head using a chainsaw. I managed to roll out of the way of the saw, but couldn’t avoid the next three or so kicks from Nioki.

“Hi,” she said to Brian after I slid into a wall.

            “Hey,” he replied.

“Are you trying to kill Matt?” she inquired.

            “Yeah. Are you?” he asked.

“Yeah. I have some unfinished business with him,” Nioki said.

“Do you want to finish him together?” Brian asked.

“Hey! Can you please shut up?” I snapped. I had pulled myself off from the wall and knocked the loose rubble off my face.

“We’re just having a friendly conversation,” Nioki said.

            “I don’t care!” I snapped.

“He is very rude,” Nioki observed.

“He can be a bit rude when he’s pissed,” Brian said. “You know, you’re cute.”

“Thank you,” Nioki said and blushed. I had stood up and charged the two, but they simply stepped to the side and I flew past them harmlessly. Instead of slicing them up, I smashed into a wall.

“That had to hurt,” Ryan said.

“Ryan!” everyone (Nick, Sean E., Sean M., you know) said simultaneously.

“Yeah. I came when I heard Matt shouting and stuff,” Ryan said.

“He can be loud,” Nick said.

“Oh yeah,” Ryan replied. “Do you think Matt can win?”

“I don’t know,” Sean E. said. “It looks like he’s losing and they’re not doing anything.”

I pulled myself out of the wall and limped over to Brian and Nioki. They were standing very close to each other when they noticed me walking over to them.

“How about for our first date, we take down Matt?” Brain asked Nioki.

“Sounds like fun!” Nioki replied gleefully. I sighed and pulled out my tri-sword and spun it a few times to warm up.

“Matt can’t be serious!” Sean M. said in shock. “That’s the most unstable sword he has!” Brian pulled out an enormous dual-blade battle axe. Nioki pulled out a dagger and a katana.

“Why do you need blades?” I asked Nioki.

“I only use my claws for torture smart one,” Nioki replied smartly. I ignored her last comment and leapt into the air. Brian and Nioki followed suit and our blades clashed. Honestly, it was more of Brian and Nioki blocked me and sent me flying into a nearby building. I recovered rather quickly and prepared for an all out assault from Brian. He came soaring towards me, battle axe prepped behind his back. When he was close enough, he swung the axe, with so much force; I thought the blade would disintegrate mid-swing. Instead, an arched energy beam, following a gust of wind, came crushing down towards me. I barely managed to avoid it as it sliced the building in two and causing it to collapse. Did I mention that I was still on the building?

(Earth)

“Kaidel! I have conquered Earth!” Jon shouted as he saw Kaidel in a movie store.

“Really? That’s great!” Kaidel said with excitement.

“The only thing is, no one resisted me,” Jon said disappointedly.

“Why are you complaining? You just took Earth faster than anyone in history!” Kaidel exclaimed.

“You’re right! Next we shall rule the galaxy!” Jon declared.

(Back to the battle)

“That’s impossible!” Sean M. said franticly.

            “What is?” Layne asked him.

“That attack! It just can’t be done!” Sean M. exclaimed.

“Brian? Can we go eradicate Matt’s friends?” Nioki asked.

“Sure,” Brian replied. They jumped and appeared before my friends and prepared to kill them all. Paul tried to stand up, but he couldn’t move to well with his arm mostly detached, Nick was bruised horribly, Sean E. had several broken ribs, Sean M. had three broken bones and internal bleeding, Layne was simply cut up, Candie was unconscious, Chili Dog had no idea what was happening, and Ryan was unarmed.

“You’re friend lost,” Nioki informed them.

“And now you’re about to die,” Brian added. Behind them, there was an explosion from the rubble and a cloud of dust was seen approaching Brian and Nioki at an insane speed.

            “All right Matt!” Nick shouted.

“That’s impossible!” Brian shouted. The dust cloud shot up suddenly, then thinned out until all anybody could see was me wielding my tri-sword and using it like a propeller.

“How did he get out of that?” Nioki asked horrified. As I floated midair, my sword began to glow. It became brighter and brighter until it was blinding almost. I aimed at Nioki and Brian and launched a powerful energy blast. Brian and Nioki avoided it by bounding over to different roofs. The beam was about to hit the ground, when it split and redirected itself after Nioki and Brian.

“What kind of weapon of weapon is that?” Brian asked himself as he dodged the beam for the second time.

“How did he do that?” Nick asked excitedly. “That’s the coolest weapon I’ve seen out in the past five and a half minutes!”

“It's not normal,” Sean M. said.

(In Orbit)

“Okay, the charger blast was successful. Anything else we can do for the moment?” Brandon asked a holoscreen floating next to him.

“No. At the moment, he’ll just have to fight on his own until we get there,” Amber said.

“This is weird. Having to rely on an enemy to fight another enemy is just wrong,” Brandon said.

“We have a mutual enemy and a common goal. What’s so weird about that?” Amber asked.

            “It’s temporary, okay?” Amber said.

            “Fine,” Brandon replied.

(Planet)

“That was painful,” Brian said as he picked himself and Nioki up off the ground.

“What was that?” Nioki asked Brian as she recollected herself.

“I’m not sure, but when I find out, I’ll terminate the person who made it,” Brian declared. Because they had been knocked back about 300 feet from the fight, it would take them some time to get there.

“How long until they get back?” Ryan asked as he was patching everybody up.

            “I don’t know. About 10 to 15 minutes. 20 max,” I said.

“Any way to slow them down?” Nick asked me. He was standing on crutches because his left leg was snapped in 68 places.

“There is a way , but I don’t have the firepower or the man power to do this,” I said.

“Do what?” Ryan asked. He was putting a cast on Paul’s right arm so it wouldn’t fall off or become infected any more than it already is.

“Plant syncro-charges along the way. If we could set them off as they were heading back, we could stall them or even take them out. The only problem is that the charges are back at base camp and most of you guys are pretty banged up,” I explained.

“I could help,” Sean E. suggested. (Note: He’s in a motorized wheelchair.)

“Yeah right,” Ryan responded. “You have 6 cracked ribs, one of which nearly stabbed your heart, a broken shoulder, a fractured finger, no feeling in your feet, and a concussion. You’re lucky to be alive!”

“So? Is Candie in good condition?” Sean E. asked.

“Yeah. She’s okay. She’s a little shaken up about you and everyone else and se only as minor cuts,” Ryan said. “Why?”

“She asked me to ask Matt if she could help in the fight,” Sean E. explained.

“Tell her thanks, but no. I’m getting owned out there and you guys were…” I stopped short of completing my sentence. “There’s no need for your girlfriend to get killed.”

            “My what?” Sean E. exploded.

“It’s obvious you have feelings for her. You always stand up for her and you rarely leave her side. She clings to you like a remora to a shark!” I exclaimed. Nick, Ryan, and Paul chuckled quietly.

“Shut up!” Sean E. snapped. “Why is it that you can tell if someone has a girlfriend, Brian has a girlfriend, Sean M. had a girlfriend, Ryan had one, and you can’t even get a girl to get within 5 feet of you without trying to kill you?”

“I don’t know and I don’t care!” I snapped in response. “Why don’t we stick to the issue at hand here and worry about that later?” Behind us, and explosion occurred and rubble rained down upon us.

            “What was that?” Ryan asked.

“I don’t know. Get Brandon here and help everyone to the Base Camp. Keep security tight there and don’t let anyone in or out. Ryan, oversee that everyone her is treated and alive,” I commanded.

“And what are you going to be doing through all this?” Nick asked.

“Keeping you guys alive,” I responded.

“Matt, you’re going to get yourself killed!” Nick said.

“That’s a possibility. I’ll only fight until I know you guys are at the base camp and are moving everyone back to the cruiser,” I said. “Go. We don’t have a lot of time.”

(Earth)

            “I found something!” Kaidel shouted.

            “What?” Jon asked.

“Where Matt and them are!” Kaidel said triumphantly.

“Really?” Jon asked excitedly. He looked at the piece of paper Kaidel was holding.

            “Well?” Kaidel asked him.

“Kaidel. We are going to Planet UD-536,” Jon declared. At this point, I’m going to stop with the updates from Earth for the time being. UD-536 is where we’re at. If you haven’t guessed to where this is leading to, then you are an idiot.

(UD-536)

“That was an interesting move back there, Matt,” Brian said in his usual I’m better than you voice.

“But it’s not going to work this time,” Nioki said in competition.

“How cute, you guys can finish each other’s thought. It sickens me,” I said cruelly.

“Why? Because you can’t find a girl?” Brian asked.

“What? Why does that matter? Why was that even brought up?” I asked angrily. This time, I pulled out my Fragsword Katana blades and made a dashing attack at the couple. They side stepped me and nailed me in the back with the butts of their weapons. I crashed to the floor and slid a few feet. Before I could get up, Nioki and Brian were upon me. I just barely had enough time to get my weapons up to block them.

As they pressed down and I up, I managed to kick Brian off me and deal with Nioki straight on. I overpowered her and was able to get up before she made another attack. Brian was getting up, but I sent Nioki crashing into him. Man, for a first date, they sure have made a lot of contact. As they figured out whose limb was where, I managed to catch my breath. I leaned on my sword for support and watched the two untangle themselves. It took a good ten minutes before they were ready. By that point, I was eating a turkey and salami sandwich.

            “A sandwich?” Nioki asked me.

“Hey, I was hungry and you two took ten minutes to get yourselves ready to fight. I made this about three minutes in,” I said.

Brian’s eyes bulged out a little while I finished my sandwich. When I was done, we got back into our fight. This time, they had a different tactic. Brian swung first, causing me to block him. I fended him off in time to stop Nioki’s attack. Here’s where it got messy. Brian came in only a second after I Had knocked Nioki off. Each time, they were getting to me faster and faster. By the time I stopped Nioki, Brian was already coming. So, I knocked Nioki off, went to block Brian, only to get cut across the chest by Nioki. Brian followed suit, hitting me in a similar style with the tip of his axe. I fell to the ground and bled from my two fresh, massive wounds.

“That was too easy,” Nioki commented.

“Yes it was. But the revenge was still sweet. But it was made even sweeter by…” Brian was stating. He stopped because I managed to stand up.

“How did you survive?” Nioki asked in awe.

“It’s only flesh wounds,” I said. The bleeding had stopped and the wounds were already healing.

“You won’t be so lucky next time,” Brian said as he raised his axe. “You’re reaction time will have slowed down considerably, and you won’t be able to withstand another hit.” Brian aimed his axe at my chest and the two blades slid together forming a wide spear. Nioki placed her blades on it and it became a 4 edged spear.

“You can’t win,” Nioki said with a hint of evil in her voice. I simply raised my swords and prepared for what was about to come.

(Orbit)

“Matt’s in serious trouble!” Brandon said franticly over the com-link.

            “How?” Nick responded.

“He’s severely injured and they are about to kill him!” Brandon shouted.

“Fire a shot directly between them,” Nick advised.

“That will kill him!” Brandon responded.

“Just do it!” Nick snapped impatiently.

“Wait! I don’t think I’ll have to,” Brandon said.

(UD-536)

Brian and Nioki stabbed at me with the spear, but I responded faster than they expected because I not only blocked the attack, I was able to do a flip over it and deliver a blow to both of them in the neck. Unfortunately, the attack barely affected them. I landed on the ground and spun in time to stop another wave of attacks. They were going to use the same tactic again, but I decided to use their blades as platforms and run across them. To make this a long story short, I tripped and was knocked straight into the air.

I landed on the roof of a nearby building and rolled across the roof. I laid there for a moment, trying to gather my thoughts and make sure nothing was broken. I tried to stand up, but I couldn’t feel my left arm. I used my sword to stand up, but I couldn’t use me left hand for anything.

“Crap, this hurts,” I groaned to myself. Suddenly, Brian and Nioki leapt up to the roof and faced me. Nioki but away her dagger, but left her katana out.

“You are such an idiot,” Nioki said.

“How?” I asked. I found a small wall to lean against.

“You tried to fight us. You tried to kill the undead,” Nioki said.

“You try to prevent my conquer of this galaxy, yet you failed!” Brian shouted.

“Well, I’m sorry that you’re pissed off, but I’m not apologizing for your defeat or any of your loses!” I snapped.

“Matt!” Brandon shouted over a com-link.

“This is a bad time!” I shouted back.

“We have some unknown cruisers attacking. A few shots have made it passed the ships to the planet,” Brandon said.

“Eradicate them. Also, send an extraction team here,” I instructed.

“They won’t get to you in time,” Nioki said. Brian lunged towards me, axe ready, and stabbed and swung. I avoided it mostly, but Nioki managed to hit me with her katana. I stumbled backwards, clutching my left arm (which was useless anyway) and fell against an antenna.

“You guys are pretty annoying,” I said. I reached behind me and pulled out an Uzi and opened fire. Brian used his axe as a shield and Nioki simply hid behind him. I stopped firing long enough for them to think that I had stopped. Brian lowered his axe and Nioki poked her head out from behind him. That was when I fired again and hit Brian in the face and Nioki in the right eye. I leapt from the roof and landed on the street below. I started sprinting down the street, hoping to get enough distance from them and closer to my fighter. Unfortunately, Brian and Nioki healed faster than I anticipated. I glanced behind me and saw Brian charging down the street, tearing up the road and anything that stood in his way. I didn’t see Nioki, but I knew that she was close by.

“Die you insolent fool!” Brian shouted. The road beneath me suddenly ripped up and sent me soaring into a damaged vehicle. I rolled off as Brian hit the vehicle with his axe. I pulled a sonic detonator out of my pocket and chucked it as hard as I could into Brian’s face. The detonator smacked him backwards and I managed to get up and run. I didn’t make it very far when the detonator went off, sending me flying. I crashed into the ground on my left arm. This time, it hurt and it hurt bad. I managed to ignore the pain long enough to make it back to the base camp and sit next to my fighter.

I stayed still for a good few seconds until I felt strong enough to move without screaming in pain. I stood up and opened the cockpit and began to climb in slowly. Brian and Nioki were closing in on me, and I knew that it would only be a few more seconds before they tried to tear me to shreds.

I closed the cockpit and began powering up the engines. I managed to see Nioki and Brian climbing over a pile of rubble about 300 yards away. The engines managed to power up enough where I could take off. Weapons still hadn’t activated completely, but I could do without them for the moment. I then noticed that I could drop some cargo that Sean E. had put in. I decided to hit the button that said Press This! Suddenly, a large canister dropped and landed on Brian’s left foot.

I didn’t get back to the ship for another three hours. There was a battle going on. We simply left the planet and kept going. The canister, by the way, exploded. It sent off a nuclear blast that incinerated the entire planet surface. Jon tried to take the planet, but he was too late. He finally made it to the planet surface after everyone suddenly left. He did send a message to all of us stating that an unknown cruiser that was literally ¼ the size of the planet had left from various parts and put itself to together before jumping into hyperspace. We had a long war ahead of us.
